WINDOW SHOPPING

THE DOOR TO WINDOW SHOPPING

What can we say about window shopping? Could we consider it a hobby? An interest? It doesn’t seem very interesting…Nevertheless, we all know people who practice this “whatever you call it” quite often and, by the looks on their faces while they’re doing it, it seems that there is a very high level of fun involved.

THE HEADLESS CLOTHESMEN

What’s the point of it tough? Walking around shops, touching everything, trying everything on and coming back home empty handed with nothing but sore feet doesn’t strike us as the ideal way to spend a day. In spite of this, we decided to try it out.

THE ROAD TO...

We spent a few hours in Bairro Alto and did a bit of window shopping ourselves in the company of our photo camera and…Well…It wasn’t that bad…We’re sorry, we lied, it was quite unpleasant. Seeing all those nice clothes, accessories and other types of materials and knowing that we had no money to buy them was quite depressing, and even more depressing was noticing that there were loads of people around us who were doing just the same as us while wearing enormous smiles on their faces.

SPOT THE ODD ITEM

It’s not that we don’t respect window shoppers, it’s just that we’re probably too limited to realise that there is a very good hidden reason for what they do, when most people we know wants to dream about having things they can’t afford, they take their chances in the Lottery or something, they don’t stick their heads into shop windows.

WHO THE HELL IS GREGORY ISAACS?

From now on, the only window shopping anyone will see us doing is when we need some sort of window and go to the AKI to buy one.

Hi Ferry & Vanda (it sound cute...it could be a band name)

Window shopping, what can I add to what you said? Well... that I know that our society got to a point with such consumerism that they prefer to walk in circles all day in the mall instead of getting some fresh air and some sunshine in their faces! (My oh my, now I feel like working on that subject!)

Some of them even bring their own bags from last years' shopping to pretend they are really shopping...

From my point of view it's unhealthy and bad to your wallet/ yourself!
Believe me! People say that our country is full of economical problems and if you drop by a mall during the weekend you see it full of people walking around, stresssing, shopping, non-shopping... It's like having a food disorder, decide to start a diet and then go to the candy shop to watch the candy! (Of course you end up buing a cupcake and feel bad for yourself...)
