Crazy people in Lisbon (Tiina and Leonora)

Bairro Alto is one of the places
where you certainly will meet
crazy people

Crazy people in Lisbon

First days in Lisbon. Looking around the city with my friend. “Oh, look at the Castle! It´s beautiful!”“Yes, it is! And Praça do Comércio with the Tejo river! Wonderful!”“And... Oh my god! Look at that man in black with chop on his hands! What is he doing?? He is blessing people! He´s crazy!”

We went for coffee and met these
totally drunk football fans from
Belfast. Football craziness!!

And one night I´m smoking acigarette on the balcony and talking with my neighbours. “ So, do you like ithere in Lisbon?”“Yes, I love this city! But what´s that, look at that man! He´s walking on the street with a dog, completely naked! He´s crazy!”

Those were my first days here in Lisbon. And that´s all true. While I´ve been doing my “tourist tours” around the city I saw a lot of strange people, especially in the city centre. And still I can see those people when I go out in the nights or visit somewhere.Ok, I know: in every city there are strange people (Rome and even small Helsinki is full of them) but it feels that here they are more “concentrated”. Those people make Lisbon that special city it is: The crazy people give the particular atmosphere to the city. They make our life funnier! Every night you hope to find a person who makes you laugh and leaves you speechless.

On my way back home from university.
The man change a place after every stop.
Crazy!?!

If you think that these photos are not enough... Well... It´s not easy and not always so correct to take pictures of those kind of people. We usually just can´t ask them: “Do you want to take a photo with me? And don´t forget to smile!!!”So this has been a hard work!

Crazy people are the best! (I mean "good crazy")

I love "loucos de lisboa" and I've seen a bit of everything here and there but I must confess I never saw a naked man walking his dog!

One of these days a complete stranger asked me for one of my chestnuts (I had just bought 12 of them) and I was so surprised that I din't even say anything, just gave him the fruit and walked away.

I remember also watching a woman asking a girl she didn't know personal questions at the bus stop. Then she started complaining about how the city used to be cleaner years ago... And no one answered her... I guess she only needed company...

haha funny work =D

Where I live there's this man who pretends not being able to speak and only communicates in sign language...Unless he's drunk, he never shuts up when he's drunk.
There's another man who walks really slowly with a notepad in his hand, stops dead every 20 meters he walks, scribbles something in the notepad and walks for another 20 meters.
I feel kind of sorry for this type of people, but I can't deny that they make our lives happier.
