My version of “Tea with the birds”

A story that began years ago...the “where” is not known, but when someone dedicates his life to making a difference that is the least important.

Juzo Tamaoki was a bird lover. They are able to fly, are beatiful and have enough life time. Enough to enjoy their daily lives without wasting precious time, like humans do, often! He only wanted to be “free as a bird”, in this cage that earth is. As that dream was very difficult to accomplish, he decided to use one of the things birds taught him. To live each day as if it were the last, the best way he could. He thought that the best thing he could do was without big explanations, only with acts, make people feel the desire and need to live more intensively.

Therefore, at 21 and the world in his hands, he grabbed a bag and filled it with his favourite tea. In that moment he began his journey. A journey, that as he hoped would begin with him and never know an end.

His plan was to rent a flat and stay there one or two months, and then rent another flat in a totally different place, and move. This way he would be visiting different locations, all over the world and, at the same time, try to enlargen his bird collection.

One month was enough for his new neighbours to gain some curiosity about him, and then, after some “study”, he could pick one of the neighbours and invite him for tea, he would try to conquer that person. Later, after the cup of tea he’d show the birds. He concluded that in that moment, among silence, tea and birds, people really understood the message he was trying to pass on. And they did, not all of them, but the majority did! And so a young man from Mortimer Street did too! But that one was special, so Tamaoki left him a package full of tea. That way he could do the same Tamaoki did. Share his experience (and his tea) with someone “special”. That was a nice and simple way of creating some kind of favour chain.

It’s said that Tamaoki and his followers are still running the world to give people a second chance of enjoying life. An opportunity to live like a bird!

After all, there is no need to drink tea or see Tamaoki’s birds, what's important is to fly high like one!
